Andhra Pradesh provides 100% premium-free crop insurance to all registered farmers through Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) — the entire farmer-share premium is borne by the AP state government; coverage includes: paddy, cotton, groundnut, maize, red gram, bengal gram, and horticultural crops; insured against crop loss due to drought, flood, cyclone, hailstorm, pest/disease attack; compensation paid directly to bank account within 2 months of crop damage assessment; enrolment done automatically through RBK at village level — farmer need not visit any office; additional benefit: free Rythu Bharosa Kendra services include soil health card (every 2 years), free quality seeds and pesticides supply at subsidised rates, and drone-based crop monitoring in select districts
